Miami-based label was started by industry veteran [a=Paul Klein] and headed alongside executive VP [a1974986]. Empire Musicwerks came from the ashes of many labels that it acquired over the years. With access to 86,000 master recordings, the label was renamed [l=Essential Media Group] in 2007, the same year that Empire lost its UMG distribution contract. They also have their own Pro-Tools digital studio '[l1666134]'.
