With music director / A&R experience from numerous jazz clubs along midtown Manhattan's famed 52nd Street, [a254187], (along with his brother Morty), launched Haven Records, Inc in the Spring of 1946. The small independent label was originally distributed through Chester Records with a list price of 79¢, and operated through their mail-order / retail record shop in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY.
