Postbanken

Postbanken, the Norwegian bank formed in 1995 by the merger of the state-owned companies of "Norges Postbank" (the former "[l=Postsparebanken]" established 1948) and "Postgirokontoret" (established 1943). The merged bank was owned by "[l=Posten]" and regulated by a separate law. In 1999, "Postbanken" was taken over by "Den norske Bank" and later part of the "DnB NOR" Group.
