Profile

Amongst the very first of the mid '90s "bedroom labels" that surfaced in the UK, and run by Dom Martin; it's sound veering between side long Ambient / Drone pieces from the likes of Stars of the Lid, E.A.R, AMP and co to 3 minute psych pop blasts from many of the Elephant 6 bands (LPs & 45s from (as a UK first): Of Montreal, The Minders, The Gerbils, The Apples in Stereo and Music Tapes amongst others. Through more folk themed releases from Cul de Sac, Damon and Naomi, Chuzzlewit etc... the label was run very much from a fan's perspective, wildly genre crossing and unashamedly thrilled to work with musical heroes such as Spacemen 3, Sonic Boom, Dean Wareham, Damon & Naomi, Flying Saucer Attack, Yo La Tengo and Stars of the Lid amongst many others. A recent re-discovery of correspondence from the period with John Balance, Hans Joachim Roedelius, Lawrence, lots from Klaus Dinger and saddest of all, a washed away fax from the great Florian Fricke of Popol Vuh, gave hint at where the label may have veered..... the label ended in 2007 and was followed up by Dom with The Great Pop Supplement, Deep Distance and Polytechnic Youth.
