US label originally launched in Bath, ME in the late 60s by [a=Carl Strube] and later revived in Massachusetts in 1983. Also appears as "Critique Records". In 1994/1995, It partnered up with Japanese music giant [l=Avex Group] to create the joint-venture label [l=Avex-Critique], the joint-venture label closed in 1997 In 1997, Critique was sold to a Japanese concern.
