The "Museum of Mankind / Humanity", created in 1937 by Paul Rivet, is a research center and an anthropology museum under the authority of various ministries, grouping several entities from the [l220897], being one of the seven departments of the [l566922]. Its collections have been mainly transfered to the [l1892277] (2006) but it is still used as a museum.
