Los Angeles Free Music Society
Profile
LAFMS was formed by [a=Joe Potts], [a=Rick Potts] and [a=Chip Chapman] in 1974 and were soon joined by [a=Tom Recchion] and member of [a=Doo-Dooettes]. It was a collective of like-minded artists inspired by the likes of [a=Captain Beefheart] and [a=Frank Zappa]. Some of those in the collective included [a=Smegma], [a=Le Forte Four] and [a=Doo-Dooettes] and some other groups interested in noise and improvisation. 10XCD Box-set called "The Lowest Forms Of Music" introduced the history of LAFMS collective to the masses. According to the discography in [r=710070], LAFMS#09 would be John Duncan [r=402715], however there is no mention of this catalog number on that LP, and John Duncan has stated this was not an actually L.A.F.M.S. release, which is why it is not included in the box set.
