Music For Pleasure Pty. Ltd.

Profile

Australian branch of [l=Music For Pleasure Limited], opened in October 1968 with exec Kevin Weldon. Dissolved 1 July 1977. Not to be confused with the South African branch [l294964] Early releases denote a cat# like MFP-A 8XXX on the cover and SMFP-8XXX for stereo versions on the labels. There may be different label versions: The older one with Paul Hamlyn Pty Limited circling around the mfp logo, and the later oval shaped one. So please denote the label version, possibly provide images. At the older logo the country is commonly mentioned at the perimeter text at 2 o'clock, either Made in Australia > state Australia, or Made in New Zealand > state New Zealand for the country. At the oval shaped label logo the country appears on top: Made in Australia The rear cover may differ for the Made by credit, either EMI Records (The Grammophone Co. Ltd.) or EMI (Australia) Limited. Please denote the version. Same for the flipback cover or not. At early version commonly [l=Paul Hamlyn Pty. Ltd.] appears beneath the Music For Pleasure logo on the cover and should be mentioned as Record Company. The distribution changed to [l=Summit Records Australia] at some point, most likely when the address of this company changed to the same as this one. Previously a subsidiary company of [l131854].
