IndustrialnatioN Magazine

Profile

IndustrialnatioN was an independent international underground music magazine based in Oakland, California. The magazine was founded in Iowa City, IA in 1991. Issue #1 was released as a half-sized b/w xerox fanzine with a press run of 100 copies. It quickly grew in size and depth to document the underground electronic music industry and culture. In 1995 the magazine's home base relocates to Chicago,IL. IndustrialnatioN upgrades to a full-size format (8.5 x 11) with full-color glossy cover and newsprint interior. After publishing issue #16 in 1998, the editorial staff take a hiatus from publishing and is widely considered to be defunct, like so many other fanzines from the late 1990's. In 2003 IndustrialnatioN reapears in the San Francisco Bay Area and lays roots in Oakland, CA. With this move comes a drastic improvement in the quality of the magazine adding glossy and color pages inside. A volunteer collective of electronic music enthusiasts write for IndustrialnatioN Magazine. The last issue published was Issue #21 in 2005.
