"Energia 97 FM" is a sub-label of [l2861873], a Brazilian radio station currently based in São Paulo, capital of the homonymous state, operating on the FM dial at the frequency of 97.7 MHz. - "FM 97" was founded in September 1983 by José Antônio Constantino, at the time owner of Rádio ABC de Santo André, and was conceived by his son, Zezinho Constantino, who was only 23 years old. - At first, the radio's programming was directed to an alternative profile, covering several musical styles, mainly Brazilian music, and gradually it was directing its programming to other trends, with a focus on rock. - In the early 1990s, "FM 97" moved its studios and transmitters from Santo André to the city of São Paulo. - In December 1994, the brand "FM 97 Rock" was extinguished, and "Hot Nine Seven" was created, focused on electronic music, in particular eurodance, electropop, and dance. - Latter it was re-branded to "Energia 97 FM".
