ElectroSound Group Midwest was a record and cassette manufacturing plant headquartered in Shelbyville, Indiana, which arose from the ashes of bankrupt [l654683] in 1978. Another former Viewlex subsidiary, [l264380], was rebranded as [l473670] in 1985. Record pressings can be identified by the hand-etched "Emw", "ℰMW" or "ƐMW" in the deadwax area. Please always add Emw or EMW in the BAOI runout fields for optimal searching. Pressings for A&M Records bear a 'B' code on the label next to the A&M logo or underneath the ℗ A&M Records, Inc. Pressings for PolyGram and its sublabels have "016" or "16" printed on labels. Pressings for K-Tel have "74" printed on labels. From 1977-1991, they had the muffin top/chamfered pressing rings with the smaller inner ring of 35mm and the outer ring of 73mm.
