Roadshow

Profile

Founded by [a=Fred Frank] and [a=Sid Maurer] in October 1972. Distribution changed several times: - 1972-1973 ; [l=Stereo Dimension Records] - 1974-1975 : [l=Scepter Records, Inc.] - 1976-1978 : [l=United Artists Music And Records Group, Inc.] - 1978-1979 : [l=RCA Records] The post-1976 releases of the company's longest-serving stars [a=B.T. Express] (who signed directly with [l=Columbia] in 1976 instead of moving with the label to United Artists) only had its print logo on the Columbia label. It was during the Columbia period that Roadshow created the [l=Coast To Coast (2)] imprint, whose only significant release was by British disco diva [a=Kelly Marie]. The label's stars included funk/disco band [a=B.T. Express], R&B singing group [a=Enchantment], [a=Witch Queen] (assembled and co-produced by [a=Gino Soccio]) and gospel music legend [a=Shirley Caesar]. The label exists today as Roadshow Entertainment Group, leasing out its recordings for others to release.
