Romeo

Profile

US shellac label. This was a 25ยข brand originally produced by the [l404406] for the S. H. Kress dime stores. Introduced in July 1926, its early history is identical to that of the [l213635] label. Romeo became part of the [l477618] line following an August 1929 merger, and remained as one of ARC's largest client labels throughout much of the 1930s. Separate race- and country music series were introduced in 1931. The label was finally discontinued in April 1938, along with ARC's remaining dime-store labels.
