Series of LPs [English: Archive of Popular Music] released by [l=Мелодия] in 1988-1989. Each disc is a collection of songs of one of the most famous representatives of the English-American pop and rock music of the 1950s-1970s. Based on the information on sleeves and labels, the license for production of the musical material is not acquired: on the releases, there were no mention of the copyright holders. In this regard, in terms of international copyright law, the series should be classified as "pirated" editions. According to another point of view, in light of the fact that the Soviet Union signed the Geneva Convention on copyright only in 1973 (and then only partially), "Мелодия", which operated in the Soviet legal space, is not formally required to pay for the publication of material recorded before this time border.
