Whitfield Street Studios

Profile

([b]Note:[/b] For studio prior to 2004, see [l198769]) Opened in 2004 by [a=Robin Millar], after a brief period having closed from former guises (previous incarnations as the [l=CBS Studios, London], then [l=Whitfield Street Recording Studios], then [l301153] (1989 to 1993) and [l283645]), Millar's company that owned the building was known as "Arts Media" but changed their name to "Whitfield Street Studios Ltd." in 2004. The facility has the large Studio One (which is 2,400sqft and capable of accommodating 80 musicians), and features two isolation booths adjacent to the main recording area. Centre-piece of the control room is a 72-channel Neve VRP. Studio Two’s large control room features a rebuilt Neve VR72 Cambridge console, while the self-contained Penthouse Studio Three has an SSL J-Series desk. After two insolvency cases in 2005 and 2008, the company was dissolved.
