Sabado Som

Profile

Underground Brazilian label from the early to mid 1970s headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and named after [l1804303]'s TV programme "Sábado Som" (Saturday Sound) regularly aired from 1974 to 1975 and hosted by journalist [a315787]. While the TV programme itself presented diverse mainstream international bands and artists from pop, hard and progressive rock fields, the Sábado Som label - alongside with BASF's Brazilian division - was curiously concentrated in providing German rock albums, mainly license repressings of Brain and Bacillus Records albums.
