Winley Records

Winley Records was founded by [a=Paul Winley] in 1956 and went out of business in 1962, releasing some forty singles in between. This small, New York independent label released some doo-wop favorites from The Paragons and Jesters. It has an erratic numbering system, which began at 212 and ended at 267, skipping many numbers along the way. Winley Records resurfaced in the 1970s as [l=Paul Winley Records] releasing early hip hop records. Its catalog is presently controlled by [l=Phase One Network], an asset management company. 45 RPM Catalog Number, Date and Label Identification: 212 (1957): Blue label. 213 through 230 (1957–1958): Orange label, "Winley" name is in smaller (3/16-inch) print. 231 and higher (1958 forward): Orange label, "Winley" name is in slightly larger (1/4-inch) print.
