[b]1996:[/b] Founded by Kevin Czinger after purchasing [l=Zoo Entertainment]. [b]Mid 1997:[/b] The "Zoo Entertainment" name ceases to be used. [b]October 1997:[/b] Czinger merges Volcano with [a=Dallas Austin]'s [l=Rowdy Records] to become [l=Freeworld Entertainment]. [b]March 1998:[/b] After being plagued with financial troubles as Freeworld, the label is purchased by the Zomba Label Group and subsequently renamed back Volcano Entertainment. [b]December 2000:[/b] Volcano acquires the assets of [l=Capricorn Records] which had recently shut down following a reemergence in the early nineties. [b]Volcano has reissued many of the releases originally found on [l=Zoo Entertainment], [l=Capricorn Records] and [l=Scotti Bros. Records].These releases should [i]not[/i] have release dates before 1996, and most likely were reissued later in the nineties.[/b] North American reissues of [b]Zoo Entertainment[/b] releases vary from approximately [b]1998-2001[/b]. North American reissues of [b]Capricorn Records[/b] releases are almost all exclusively [b]2001[/b]. North American reissues of [b]Scotti Bros. Records[/b] releases are almost all exclusively [b]1998[/b]. Unofficial / counterfeit releases should use [l161583] instead.
