Atlantic Original Sound is a reissue series by the [l=Atlantic] record label of 50 titles "to commemorate Atlantic's 50th birthday" —Ahmet Ertegun, co-chairman and founder of Atlantic Records. All issued in 1998, the releases are made in Germany and in Japan, coming in a characteristic red-white-pale yellow Digipak designed by [a=Urs Tschuppert]. Each title contains an 8-page booklet insert, and carries original cover design and liner notes. 20 soul and rock titles also available.
