Cascade Records (4)

Profile

Cascade Records is a record label founded by [a=Nathan Miller (2)], [a=Mike Derrick (2)], [a=Graham Pawluk] and [a=Drew Cramer] in 1995; all four were members of Detroit, Michigan hardcore bands [a=Empathy (2)] and [a=Chelsea's Gone Under]. In late 1996, Nathan Miller took over sole ownership of the record label, with sporadic help from other members of his band [a=Thoughts Of Ionesco], including [a=Sean Hoen] (who later formed his own record label, [l=Down Peninsula Audio]). Cascade Records' first three releases were co-released with [l=Conquer The World Records], which Empathy had been working with since 1994. Over the years, Cascade Records has operated under various names, changing with the people involved and the media of the releases (music, books, tapes, etc). The company was officially founded as [l=Cascade Recordings] in 1995, it later took on it's most-often used and recognized name [l=Cascade Records (4)] (from 1996 to 1997), then in 1998 the name was changed to [l=C.A.S.S. Records] (which was an acronym for Cascade Audio Sound Spectrum), then to [l=C.A.S.S. Works] (from 1998 to 2001). In 2002 the label went under hiatus. Since its revival in 2014, Nathan has been using the name the [l=Cascade Collective] and has re-issued the entire catalog digitally.
