The Mego label began life at the end of 1994 and was closed down at the end of 2005, only to be reopened in January 2006 as [l=Editions Mego]. Founded by [a=Ramon Bauer], [a=Peter Meininger] and [a=Andreas Pieper]. Ramon and Peter had previously been involved with the [l=Mainframe (2)] label, one of Austria's first techno labels (with releases by [a=Ilsa Gold], [a=Kirlian] and [a=Elin] amongst others). Andi is a Berlin based producer who maintained the Mego Berlin studio. By 1995 [a=Pita] ([a=Peter Rehberg]) joined the crew and Peter Meininger left. The Mego Wien office was based in Meidling, a traditional workers district of Vienna.
