Australian label founded in 1989 by [a=Jason Reynolds (5)] in Melbourne which includes music ranging from rock to electronic. Reynolds started working for [l=Sub Pop] in 1995 and relocated Summershine to Seattle in 1994, where Sup Pop also took care of manufacturing and distribution, becaming kind of a sublabel. The last release was in 1998. With the move also the numbering of the releases changed. The last release in Australia was "shine 48cd" ([r735354]). From there the catalogue number reflected the change of location, e.g. "shine-us 3" ([r735292]). The first releases in the US contained a small fyler, informing about the move (see pictures).
