Major Danish tourism operator founded 1956 by [a=Simon Spies]. As the charter tourism industry boomed in the 1960's and 1970's the Spies industry made Simon Spies one of the wealtiest Danes. After the death of Simon Spies in 1984 the company peaked in market share in 1989 after aquiring the main Danish competitor, [l=Tjæreborg], now having 85% of the Danish charter tourism market.
