ARS Productions

Profile

ARS Productions is a label from Belgium. If you only see 'ARS' as logo (very common for releases before 1993), then use [l40688] as label. Use [l83074], [l373060] or [l443757] for company purposes (copyright, distributor) depending on what is mentioned on the release. During the 2004, name of the company was changed to [l68422]. The label name changed to [l49484]. Since 2005, only the new names are used. ARS (Antwerp Record Shop) Productions started out in 1976 as a specialty import and oldies shop by Patrick Busschots, but soon developed into a record label with early successes from [a=Pet Shop Boys] and distributing the catalogues of [l=Unidisc], Cartouche and [l=Hithouse] among others. The big bang however came in 1989 with the world-wide success of [a=Technotronic], which led to an important growth in the size of the company. ARS now is actively present in the Benelux and French markets, with respective distribution by [l=EMI] and [l=Warner Music France]. While the focus and core activity remains on developing local and international long term artists, ARS is also a player in the "middle of the road" compilation market. With the Kids Music label, ARS became the market leader in the childrens' compilations area. The success of ARS also led to sideline activities which have now developed into stand-alone entities. This Belgian company owns different labels: [l40688] [l35981] [l11591] [l476065] [l20678] [l42220] [l3129] [b]Labelcode: LC 06341 / LC 6341[/b]
