Shadow Records was launched in 1995 as an [l=Instinct Records] sublabel, focused on the more organic side of the underground electronic music scene. In addition to introducing artists like [a=DJ Krush] and [a=DJ Cam] to the North American market, Shadow also had a two year partnership with British label [l=Ninja Tune], releasing early work by artists such as [a=Funki Porcini], [a=DJ Food], [a=Up Bustle & Out], and [a=9 Lazy 9].
