Snake's Music was a well known Polish record company that roots back to the early 90s. The company was founded in 1992 and based in Sosnowiec on the initiative of the future president, Dariusz Wąż and Artur Kubica. Other members of the Snake's Music team were; [a1236682] (responsible for music selection published on a various compilations), [a1755211] and Gayga vel [a1069468]. The company licenced, released and distributed mainly Italo / Dance / Pop compilations and albums. They acquired an exclusive licence (from Discomagic, Italy) to distribute Euro Dance styles across Poland. It has to be mention that not many record companies, located in Poland, were interested to promote these styles at that time. Snake's Music played a very important role in this regard. A huge success was gained by the company, mainly due to its cassette distribution with Dance music, especially various compilations (this was the time when CD players were hardly available in Poland). The CD compilations were also released, but in much fewer quantities. At this time, the CD was still an "exclusive" format/media in Poland. Between 1992 and 1994 Snake's Music released mainly music cassettes and CDs for retail sale. Some releases were also, exclusively, sent to radio stations prior to the official release. In 1994, the company decided to release music on vinyl format. Series "Hot Dance Edition - Special DJ Edition" ([l751873]) was aimed towards radio and club DJs actively promoting and playing Dance music. In October 1994 Snake's Music started releasing [l865998] series that continued until May 1997. The series was compiled by [a864704]. A DJ located in Tczew, Poland. Looking back in time, it has to be admitted that these compilations make a huge impression due to the track selection. On many occasions, some remixes or extended versions were only available on Snake's CDs, with a master copy that has never been released elsewhere. The compilation came out in two formats, as a CD and an MC (music cassette) and is highly collectible in Poland 'till today. In 1995 Snake's Music adds a Maxi CD single to their catalogue. Also, this is the year when company focus more on Dance music producers from Poland. A big success was gain with [l752532] series. Snake's Music actively supported Polish producers. Artists like [a1151135], [a510040], [a1304810], [a1918637] gained massive success with Snake's Music. Sometime in the middle of 1995, Snake's start licencing their music to other countries. Romanian record label Roton releasing [r12537440] on MC with cooperation with Snake's Music. Also, Czech division of Snake's Music is created. [l260399] is produced by [a2051574]. The first release of Snake's Music Czech is [r1682066]. The Polish law status for Snake's Music was S.C., which stands for "Spółka Cywilna". Sometime in the late 90s the company changed their status from S.C. to P.M. which stands for "Przedsiębiorstwo Muzyczne". In the 2000s, yet again, the company changes the status for Sp. Z.o.o, which stands for "Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością". The company fully operates, as Sp. Z.o.o, until early 2003. They're still releasing compilations and Maxi singles that are being due to release. However, due to, slowly dying styles like Euro House and Eurodance, Snake's Music compilations and releases slowly starting to disappearing from the market. On October 28, 2002 Snake's Music lost their phonographic licence. That was the end of the giant from Poland. On February 6, 2024 [a1236682] announced on his Facebook page that he acquired a permission, from the owner of the non-existing any more Snake's Music company, to sell all the Snake's archive to the Polish public. This includes music cassette tapes, CDs and vinyl records that have been stored in the warehouse. A list with vinyl records and CDs, that are available to buy, has been published online and anyone who is interested were asked to contact [a1236682] directly. The vinyl records list contains 72 pages of records, with 40+ records listed per page. The CD list contains approx. 250 CDs (in various quantities). Furthermore, on 18th of March 2024 [a1236682] published another post with announcement that Snake's Music has approx 5000 copies of [r1792652] for sale. This was a hugely successful album from 1996, that has been entirely produced, marketed and distributed across Poland by Snake's Music. Snake's owner offered a discounted price for buyers that are willing to take larger quantities of their inventory.
