Tempo Elite

Profile

After 1945, the former "Tempo boss" Otto Stahmann was no longer allowed to produce in his own factory in Babelsberg (for political reasons and because he only had a British license). He switched to a company called Kybarth, which had been making contract pressing in Ehrenfriedersdorf since the 1920s, and had his Tempo Elite plates pressed there. After a short time he leased the factory and continued to produce until his production license was revoked there too. Then he was fed up with the East, took a few dies and moved to Munich. There he started all over again with his Tempo records and an order number series 3500. (Some old matrices were still used for the first plates).
