Achtung Baby!

Russian independent label and media project, which works in the fields of industrial/noise/neofolk/ambient/experimental/avant-garde music. It was founded in 1988 by music journalist, graphic artist and experimental film maker Igor Vaganov. The idea of ​​the project was originally the discovery and promotion of ideas and sound vision of various underground experimental artists in the country and abroad. In the early steps, Achtung Baby! project included a radio program of the same name, which was regularly broadcast at local radio stations, and since the fall of 1995, with the support of the famous experimental music label Staalplaat (Holland), it has been relayed in Amsterdam via Radio Hundred. In July 1997, the Internet version of Achtung Baby! was created - an extensive database with lots of music information, exclusive interviews, reviews and contacts. In February 1998, to the decade of Achtung Baby! began work on the anniversary compilation "Ten Years of Madness (Behind the Iron Curtain)" which was the first release of the label. Together with partners, Cold Lands Distribution, the label also took an active participation in the organization of the first international electronic music festivals "(Land)schaft" and "Archaic and Technology" in Moscow, the festival "Virus Infection" in Rostov, etc. The name of the label has nothing to do with the group U2 album (1991) of the same name.
