Chicago, Illinois-based blues, R&B, jazz and gospel label which operated from 1951 to 1957. For all Unofficial Releases / Repros & Bootleg copies of this label - please use [l1220198]. Bulk of the masters are now owned by [l33470] of Chicago, except for those of [a98590], [a45107] and [a1013997] (on the sister label States), which went to [l33726]. The label released 116 singles and two 10" LPs, but no 12" LPs. [b]Do not confuse this label with the Los Angeles-based [l70009], some of whose releases show simply "United" with a very similar typeface to the Chicago label.[/b] For unofficial releases, see [l1220198].
