Factory was found in Leningrad in 1947. It made records from Leningrad's radiocommittee studio. From the beginning of 1950 label opened its own studio and orchestra - [a=Оркестр Артели "Пластмасс"]. In this studio recorded all famous and forbidden by censorship USSR artists. From the 1950 almost all local USSR vinyl factories used Артель "Пластмасс" matrixes and numeration.
