Snap Records

Profile

Soap Records started out as Snap Records in 1992 when Lars Tengroth and Jonas Sjöström at MNW Records decided to form a new label as an outlet for all the Swedish indie pop that emerged at the time. Snap Records' initial roster included bands such as This Perfect Day, Eggstone, The Wannadies and Whipped Cream, and during 1993 and 1994 Pleasurehouse, Scents, Easy and other bands were added. Most of the Snap/Soap releases featured an eye-catching graphic design, courtesy of Swedish designer Lars Sundh. Due to legal problems the name of the label had to change in the spring of 1994, after complaints from the German disco band Snap!. One letter was altered and the new name was Soap Records. The label seems to have folded around 2000. Contact info from 1993: Snap Records Ltd Unit 401 444 Brixton Road London SW9 8EJ Related to: - [l=Snap Records Ltd.]
