Torso

Profile

Label Code: LC 7052 / LC 07052 . Dutch independent label that basically had two incarnations: Torso was set up in the late 1970's by [a=Dick Polak], [a=Hansje Joustra] and [a=Peter Dispa], releasing records by [a=Mecano (2)], [a=The Rousers], [a=Mick Ness] and [a=Mekanik Kommando] amongst others, sometimes in collaboration with [l=Plexus] or licensed to [l=Ariola Benelux]. After 1982 the label was inactive for a couple of years, after which it was sold to [l=Boudisque] and a second life for the label began. From around 1984 Boudisque started releasing records on Torso which were either licensed from independents like [l=Beggars Banquet], [l=Ralph Records] and others, or their own signings. From late 1980's the name [l=Torso Dance] was used for dance oriented stuff. After Boudisque went bankrupt in 1994 the sublabels [l=Go Bang! Records] and [l=ESP Records] were bought by [l=Roadrunner Records] and Torso went into oblivion. Distributed by [l=EFA].
