A Codiscos sub-label, with Vallenato music as its main focus. At the end of the 70s, vallenato began to position itself as one of the most important genres in all regions of the country and precisely due to the rise of artists who came to record, the company decided to create the Costeño label. Great minstrels of classical vallenato such as Alfredo Gutiérrez, Aniceto Molina, Enrique Díaz, Emiliano Zuleta among others, were part of this label. Later, with the birth of romantic vallenato, artists such as Diomedes Díaz, Binomio de Oro de América, Los Diablitos, Los Gigantes del vallenato, Otto Serge, Los Betos, and many more arrived. Currently Costeño also has on his label the most important representatives of the “Nueva Ola” vallenato such as Peter Manjarrés, Luifer Cuello or Máximo Zuleta. Two of the most traditional varieties within the genre, such as Vallenatos de Oro and Vallenatos de Bronce, are part of the history of this label.
