Small Hollywood, CA, label owned by record store owner Maurice A. Rapoport. Active from 1947-48. "In December 1947, on complaint of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Records, a preliminary injunction was granted preventing Rapoport's use of the Metro name. Rapport ignored the injunction, continued to sell Metro records, and was again cited for contempt. A final injunction was granted in May, 1948, at which time Rapport was fined $14,800, and sentenced to thirty days in jail. At that time, 1,300 Metro discs were seized, and all infringing discs were ordered to be destroyed on June 8."
