Closely associated with distributor [l=Trans-Canada Musique Service] (also founded by the Laniel cousins, RIckner was President of both, both companies shared same address). They were mainly a manufacturer and production company. Owned the labels [l=Franco], [l=Franco-Élite], [l=Élite], [l=Jeunesse Franco], [l=Manitou], [l=Maxi 4], [l=Capon (2)] and others. Other Quebec Labels owned by Franco Disque Inc. can often be identified by a matrix on labels and/or in runouts starting with [i]FD[/i]. In 1973 the company joined the [l=CRIA] (Canadian Recording Industry Association). May also appear as: [b]Franco Disques[/b] without suffix, the common credit on the rear cover.
