Established as a joint venture between [l293204] [b](EMI)[/b] subsidiary The Gramophone Co. Ltd. and Paul Hamlyn Publishing Group in the UK, later establishing branches in, South Africa, Australia, France, Germany, Belgium. Sweden., selling low cost re-issues owned by parent companies vast catalogue, also including some original material. The company was wholly acquired by [l253617] on 1st Jan 1971, and remained an immediate subsidiary of renamed company [l63404] until 2013, as of 2017 the company remains active (dormant) and subsequently a direct subsidiary of Parlophone Records Ltd.
