Rio was a subsidiary of [l=Direct Records Ltd] and later Doctor Bird. Rio Records was started by William Rickard (a.k.a. Don Rickles) in 1963 and with the help of [a=Denzil Dennis] they started releasing ska music. The majority of their music was recorded in Jamaica by the producer [a=King Edwards] besides the tunes by Denzil Dennis and others like [a=Milton Hamilton] which were recorded in England. Denzil Dennis recorded 15 songs for Rio as [a=Alan Martin (3)].
