Southern Records is an independent label founded in 1990 by the owners of [l=Southern Studios], a recording studio in Wood Green, North London, which operated from the mid-1970s until 2013. The parent company, [l=Southern Studios Ltd.], was formed in 1982 as an independently owned and operated music company which operates record labels and other music-related items. When Southern Records is used as a distributor, two labels should be considered: • [l=Southern (3)] when it says "Distributed by Southern". • [l=Southern Records] when it says "Distributed by Southern Records".
