Best known for the early hits by [a217628] and [a343431]. Around September 1980, label president [a288481] announced exclusive distribution through [l6800] of Frankfurt Germany, the U.K., Switzerland and Austria. Branko Zivanovic, president of [l6800], saw the addition of Boardwalk firming Bellaphon's office in London, headed by Brian Taylor. Company dissolved after Bogart's death from leukemia two years later. Revived as an imprint of [l819350] in 1990, mainly reissuing the non-Joan Jett, [a343431] and [a313685] output (including albums by the [a48413], [a17589] and R&B star [a94932]). It was sold to [l1448283] in 2005 along with the RKO Unique masters and this incarnation is known for releasing all its new product on DVD.
