Messechina music was founded in 2006 by Victor Lilov, a well known manager of stars such as the Karandila Gypsy Brass Orchestra, Ivo Papasov and other Bulgarian performers; Ambrol Iglenikov, the co-founder of the Balkan Fever Festival in Vienna; and Dancho Yordanov. The Messechina Music production and performer management company is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and specialises in producing and promoting contemporary Bulgarian music based both on the rich heritage of Balkan traditions and on modern fusions of jazz, world music, electronic & acoustic sounds. Messechina's current portfolio includes Bulgarian artists such as Ivo Papasov and his Wedding Band (winner of 2005 BBC Radio 3 audience award), Karandila Gypsy Brass Orchestra, Georgi Yanev and the Orpheus Orchestra, the authentic vocal and tambura quartet Korova and the wonderful electritional fusion band Ikadem.
