The label specializes in heavy metal and hard rock , as well as taking on various other artists from folk to cinematic music for release . Blackdown Music currenlty distributes independently to stores in the EU and Japan , and is distributed in the USA through Alliance entertainment. The label operates an open contract philosophy for its artists and prefers working with non-exclusive deals as to ensure both artist and label can progress and make the most of opportunities .
