Bomba Records is a Lithuanian record company formed in 1992 by Giedrius Klimkevičius, Rimantas Ališauskas and Darius Butkus. Based in Vilnius Bomba Records became a key player in production, distribution and retail of recorded music in Lithuania. Since 1994 together with subsidiaries [l121330] and Bomba-M the company built a distribution network in Russia and other former Soviet Union countries. In 1996 Bomba became Lithuanian exclusive distributor of major labels [l8742] (now [l22532]), [l28757] and later of [l25487] (now [l55707]). Bomba Records was also distributor of [l69119], [l128051], [l3231], Modern Music, [l34268], ELAP-Bellevue, TOCO, [l19168], [l42045]... Bomba Records has initiated number of sub labels: [l25383] (since 1994), [l426666], [l646125] ("Bombos Įrašai" in 1998), [l168468], [l210294], [l198918], [l12735]. Bomba has published music magazine Ausis and managed music channel ZTV. It’s film distribution company Bomba Films (a licensee of Universal Pictures) was established in 1997. In 2009 Bomba was acquired by its rival [l85230]. Global financial crisis caused the bankruptcy of both companies and their subsidiaries in 2011. Bomba Records catalogue counts over 500 releases. Most of copies of releases by Bomba and it's daughter labels had holographic stickers applied to releases from 1996 on until 2004. Any release with sticker is not manufactured earlier or later than given timeframe, and sticker underwent 6 changes in short time (see pictures), last one remaining for many years to come then. These can be used to fairly precisely date when specific copy in question was manufactured (dates given) in case of first five versions since were replaced fastly.
