Distribution arm of the [l=Universal Music Group]. Also appears as: - UMD In the US, it was established in 2006 as a division of [l=Universal Music Group Distribution, Corp.] (later rebranded as [l=UMG Commercial Services Inc.]) In 2015, UMD was dissolved to help UMG provide more creative ethics to their labels. However, up until early 2020, it managed to operate as an in-name only copyright holder, before being renamed "UMG Commercial Services". The name "Universal Music Distribution" may also appear on releases outside of the US.
