One of the conglomerate of independent record labels founded in 1956 by record shop owner and producer [a=Bobby Robinson] in New York City. It was a trademark of, first, BR Associates Inc. and then [l=Bobby Robinson Inc.]. Some of these recordings were licensed to Guy Stevens' [l=Sue Records] (UK label). 45 RPM Catalog Number, Date and Label Identification: 1000 through 1019 (1957–1958): Maroon label. 1020 through 1023 (1958–1959): Yellow label without horse head logo. 1024 through 1032 (1959–1960): Yellow label with horse head logo. 1033 through 1039 (1960): Multi-color label. 1040 and higher (1960 forward): Yellow label with horse head logo or multi-color label.
