Tradition Records (3)

Profile

American record label specializing in folk recordings founded by Guggenheim heiress [a=Diane Hamilton] and run with [a=Pat Clancy]. Active from 1955 to 1966, when it was sold to [l=Everest], becoming [l=Tradition Everest]. Acquired by [l=Rykodisc] in the early 1990s, who reissued many titles using the [l=Tradition] label, and again in the mid-2000s by [l=Empire Musicwerks]. Also written as [l=Tradition], [l=Tradition Recordings]. Note: Check the label and text on the bottom of the rear sleeve or the label to identify [l=Tradition Everest] re-issues - many used the original cover art and so appear, at first glance, to be released on [l=Tradition]/[l=Tradition Records (3)]/[l=Tradition Recordings] but are actually released by [l=Tradition Everest].
