Founded by the writer and journalist Sarandy Cabrera, who fulfilled the role of director, it worked between 1962 and 1965. Through it, Cabrera released several vinyl records. Despite its short history and limited record production, this label had to its credit the edition of the first professional recording of Los Olimareños. As for books, he edited, among others, the writer Alfredo Gravina. The name of the publisher comes from the Guarani word "karumbe", which means turtle, an animal that Cabrera also adopted as the company's logo. Fundada por el escritor y periodista Sarandy Cabrera, que cumplió el rol de director, funcionó entre 1962 y 1965.1​ A través de ella Cabrera, editó varios discos en vinilo. A pesar de su breve historia y su limitada producción discográfica, este sello tuvo en su haber la edición de la primera grabación profesional de Los Olimareños. En cuanto a libros, editó, entre otros, al escritor Alfredo Gravina. El nombre de la editorial parte de la palabra en idioma guaraní "karumbe", que significa tortuga, animal que Cabrera adoptó también como logo de la empresa.
