Founded in 2016, Needle to the Groove Records is a Bay Area-based independent boutique record label that offers limited pressings of music by an eclectic roster of artists. It’s collectively owned by a handful of label partners, including Needle to the Groove record store owners Allen Johnson (San Jose) and Dan “the Record Man” Bernal (Fremont), Michael Boado, Jeff Brummet, and David Ma. The label’s releases have included titles by Diamond Ortiz, Valley Wolf, DJ Platurn, Marinero, Sundur, Mild Monk, Casual Crypt, Will Sprott and Aki Kumar. NTTG also operates it's own sub-label Slow Thrive, which features intimate DIY recordings from bedroom artists. Artists include Contrail and Casual Crypt.
