Radio-télévision belge de la Communauté française (RTBF) is Belgium's national broadcasting corporation for French speakers. Founded 18 June 1930 as [url=http://www.discogs.com/label/1541780]Institut national belge de radiodiffusion[/url] by [a=Paul-Henri Spaak]. In 1940 German occupying forces took over its management and changed its name to Radio Bruxelles. Some INR personel relocated to London and broadcast from there. After the war INR was restored and it was a founding member of the European Broadcasting Union in 1950. Television broadcsting from Brussels began in 1953. The Institut became Radio-Télévision belge (RTB) in 1960, and RTBF was eventually established in 1977.
