Commonly called the Jazz Fest or Jazzfest, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is an annual festival focusing on New Orleans and Louisiana music, art, culture, and heritage, held at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans. The festival is organized by [l=The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation] (est. 1970), a nonprofit organization that uses the proceeds for their programs that support local music and culture. The festival is commonly held during the day, between the 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., at the Fair Grounds Race Course, a horse racing track located in historic Mid-City. It is held on the last weekend of April (Friday–Sunday) and the first weekend of May (Thursday–Sunday) each year.
