Front Line (2)

Profile

British reggae label launched in 1978 as a subsidiary of [l=Virgin]. selected by A&R [a467566]. Folded in 1979 but their records are often reissued via Virgin. Original releases have a "Virgin Front Line" or "Virgin's Front Line" logo. On spine also mentioned as: "Virgin's Front Line", "Virgin's Front Line Records" or "Virgin Front Line Records". Later Caroline releases have a "The Front Line" logo. Often promoted with slogans like 'The Front Line in Music' and 'Sounds of Reality'. Do not confuse with [a=Tony Robinson]'s [l=The Front Line] label from Jamaica which copied the 'bloodied fist' logo design. The light tan-yellow label without the fist was introduced in early 1979.
